Salt Me Philanthropy
Salt Me is excited to announce our new philanthropic efforts to make a difference for our community and world. We will choose an organization each month to receive a portion of our monthly proceeds. Introducing this new program on a day that we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is intentional and meaningful. Dr. King stated that “all life is interrelated” and that “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly”.
Salt Me was created to provide exceptional, natural products made with the best ingredients designed to pamper your body and improve your quality of life. We are committed to teaching you how to be the best advocate for your health and wellness. We are also dedicated to building lasting relationships with our customer-based family and empowering them to live intentionally. We realize that we can DO MORE! We want to make a positive impact for others by supporting organizations throughout the year that exemplify the legacy of Dr. King and align with Salt Me’s beliefs.
For the month of January, 10% of sales will be donated to The King Center. The King Center believes in the #BelovedCommunity concept which is a “society of justice and love”... one that is “not conflict-free, but shuns acquiescence to violence”. Dr. King’s words rang true then and still do now:
“All I’m saying is simply this: that all mankind is tied together; all life is interrelated, and we are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of identity. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. For some strange reason I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be-this is the interrelated structure of reality.”
At Salt Me, we also believe that such a world is possible, where all people are valued for their character, respected and treated with dignity. It’s possible, if we all work collectively to lean into what is right, denounce what is wrong and believe that we all can have an interrelationship grounded in love. In preparation for Black History Month in February, we have chosen Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past (MVSP) as next month’s recipient of our philanthropic giving. MVSP is dedicated to teaching youth and adults about the civil rights movement. Their signature life-changing program is a 10-day journey to civil rights sites in the south. The journey spans across landmarks and locations in Atlanta, Selma, Montgomery, Birmingham, Meridian and Hattiesburg (Mississippi), Jackson, Little Rock and Memphis. Along the way, participants meet many people who participated in the civil rights movement and learn the lessons of compassion, nonviolence, hope, justice, forgiveness, and civil responsibility. MVSP also co-sponsors the yearly Non-Violence Parade and Rally in the Mahoning Valley, hosts anti-racism workshops, organizes voter registration and provides educational forums throughout the year. Visit www.mvsojourntothepast.com to learn more about this worthy organization led by Mrs. Penny Wells.
Please share about our new philanthropic program of giving with your family, friends and contacts. Together, we can make a difference for ourselves and others.
