How To Have A Relaxing Spa Day At Home

In a perfect world, we'd all be adept at pampering ourselves. Trips to the spa for relaxing massages, luminous facials, and all the detox water we could drink would be the norm, and self-care would be a priority. Unfortunately, most of us don't have the kind of schedule to maintain this type of pampering.

With these at-home spa tips, you no longer have an excuse not to pamper yourself. You can have a spa day at home from start to finish, even if you are on a shoestring budget. With the holidays fast approaching, it is imperative that you not forget yourself in the hustle and bustle. You deserve it! Follow these tips for the best day yet in the comfort of your own home:


Morning nutrition

Start the morning off right with a homemade smoothie to nourish your inside while you pamper your outside. Throw in 1/2 banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 2 cups of spinach, and 2 cups of water for a sweet greens treat. Sip slowly or gulp if you don't want to practice self-control on your day of indulgence, and look forward to the day that you have planned.


Beautiful nails

Remove old polish and trim up nails so that they look neat. Follow your old polish remover with a soak in warm water. After the brief soak, mix 1 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp lemon juice, and essential oils of your choice in a glass bowl. Apply to the tips of your fingers and around fingernails, rubbing into your cuticles. Cover the tips of your fingers with foil, wrapping tightly around each fingertip to lock in moisture. Leave these tips on for 10 minutes. After removing the foil, rinse oil mixture off of your fingertips and soak in warm water once more for 5-10 minutes. Pat your fingers dry and apply a fresh coat of polish for a fresh, dewy look to your manicure.


Glowing skin

For soft skin, consider using a pink Himalayan salt scrub. Lustrous hair is only an application away with this rich and luxurious hair mask. Mix 2 tablespoons of coconut oil with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and comb through the hair from root to tip. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse your hair mask off in the shower and shampoo and condition as you normally would.


After you treat yourself to your relaxing spa day, you'll no doubt want to flaunt your new, gorgeous self. Treat yourself to dinner with friends, or go out for a night on the town with your significant other. You'll feel so good you'll want to schedule regular trips to your personal spa. Go ahead.....you deserve it!
